How to Add Your BDO Registration Number to Your Seller Account

If your business is required to register with the BDO Register, make sure to add your BDO registration number in your Seller Account settings on Empik Marketplace.
Below, we explain what the BDO Register is, who is required to register, and how to add your BDO registration number to your account.

What is the BDO Register?

BDO (the Database on Products, Packaging and Waste Management) is a register of businesses that place products or packaging on the market or carry out activities subject to obligations under Polish waste management regulations.

The obligation to register with the BDO Register arises, among others, from:
  1. the Polish Act of 14 December 2012 on Waste,
  2. the Polish Act of 13 June 2013 on Packaging and Packaging Waste Management,
  3. regulations concerning Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).  

Does the BDO registration requirement apply to you?

Your business may be required to register with the BDO Register if you:
  1. import or manufacture packaging or packaged products,
  2. place specific products on the market (e.g. electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, or accumulators),
  3. carry out business activities for which Polish law requires registration with the BDO Register.
If you operate an online store and ship products to customers using packaging (e.g. cardboard boxes, envelopes, or plastic mailers), this registration requirement may also apply to your business.

How to add your BDO registration number to your Seller Account

  1. Sign in to the Seller Panel.
  2. In your store settings, locate the EPR Registration Numbers section.
  3. Enter your BDO registration number.
  4. Save your changes.
If your BDO registration number changes, remember to update it in your Seller Account.

If your business is not required to register with the BDO Register, you do not need to complete this field.

If registration is required by law, first obtain your BDO registration number and then add it to your Seller Account.
