Group Imports of Offers and Products

Group Imports of Offers and Products

There are three methods of group imports at EmpikPlace. Each of them is different and it is up to you which one you choose.

Importing products and offers through Excel template (.xlsx)

This method is recommended for sellers who do not have a catalog.
To add multiple offers and/or products at once through an Excel template, in the back office menu bar, select Price and stock > File imports > Excel template.

  • Select a file template to download: Products / Offers / Products and Offers.
  • In the Select the requirement level of attributes field, select: All (required, recommended, optional) to fill in as many attributes as possible.
  • Select the categories you would like to import.
  • Click "Generate template".

After generating the template, click ”Download.”

The file will be downloaded in the XLSX format, which will enable you to edit attibutes according to your inventory:
  1. Choose ”STR_GOLD Category” from the drop-down list.

The pink fields show the required attributes which must be filled in.
List of the required attributes:
  1. product-id –  enter the appropriate value depending on the selection of the parameter "product-id-type" (if it is EAN, then enter EAN; if it is SHOP_SKU, then enter product catalogue number)
  2. product-id-type  select EAN or SHOP_SKU
  3. sku – a unique identifier of the offer; you can enter any value, EAN or SHOP_SKU
  4. price – gross price of the product
  5. quantity – the number of items you have in stock
  6. state – product condition (if the product is new, select code "11")
If you would like to sell used products, select a different state code depending on the condition of your offer.

The white fields are optional but the more attributes you provide, the more attractive your offer is.

In the Picture field, you should paste the link to the product picture.

Save the file on your drive after filling it.

If the drop-down list does not include a product attribute, please contact us through email: support-marketplace@empik.com

The product’s attribute should be added in the next 72 hours. Then, you should:
  • Download the file again.
  • In the back office menu bar, select Price and stock > File imports.
  • In the Source field, select the downloaded file. Next, in the ”File content” field, select the details you have added (offers, products or offers and products).

There are two import modes you can choose from:

  • Normal – it creates, updates or deletes data.
  • Delete and replace – it deletes existing data and replaces it with data from the imported file.

Please remember to always select a normal import mode for the first import.

To see if the products were imported correctly, you can check it by going to Price and stock > File imports > Track Offer Imports. If there are errors in the file, analyse them and import the products after correction.

You can learn more about Tracking Products Import / Tracking Offer Imports here.

Importing products and offers through CSV/XLSX by using the mapping wizard and your products catalogue

You can import multiple files on EmpikPlace if you already have a products catalogue or your online store’s platform allows you to export product data in CSV or XLSX file.

Firstly, you need to prepare a file for an import. Please remember to save it as XLSX file or CSV (encoded in UTF-8) file.

To choose a template:
  1. In the back office menu bar, select Price and stock > File import . On the right side, choose ”Excel template.”
  2. Select the “products” template.
  3. In the the requirement level of attributes , select: all (required, recommended, optional).
  4. Select all product categories you would like to import.
  5. Next, click Generate template.
  6. After generating the template, click ”Download.”
  7. You can find the XLSX file for editing attributes according to your inventory on the top of the screen.

The pink fields show the required attributes which must be filled in.
The white fields are optional but the more attributes you provide, the more attractive your offer is.

Please remember to save the file as XLSX or CSV (encoded in UTF-8) file.

Having saved the file, go to the mapping wizard:
In the back office menu bar, Stock and price > File imports > Mapping wizard.

The mapping wizard will guide you through the process of importing your products to EmpikPlace in seven steps:

STEP 1 Import Product File

Firstly, upload a CSV or XLSX format file (encoded in UTF-8) containing the products and offers to import.
Select the file from your drive and click Send.

STEP 2 Categorization

The second step shows a preview of the product and offer file that you just uploaded.

In the Categorization section, indicate the title of the column in your file that contains the product category information.

Click "Next step."

STEP 3 Category Mapping

Map your catalogue categories to EmpikPlace’s catalogue categories.
Select your catalogue categories corresponding to EmpikPlace’s catalogue categories.
To map your catalogue categories, you can drag and drop your category on the EmpikPlace category.
Please remember that correct mapping is crucial to your store’s success on empik.com: products that are categorized incorrectly will not be available for customers who search products through categories or filters.

STEP 4 Attribute Mapping

Map the attributes by dragging and dropping them.
Please remember to map not only the mandatory attributes but also other attributes to make your offer more attractive and fill in missing information about your products. It will be easier for customers to find your offer among other offers.
Click ”Next step.”

STEP 5 Value Mapping

Map your attributes to attributes on empik.com. Attributes on EmpikPlace may differ from attributes in your catalogue, so mapping them is crucial to facilitate the process of filtering search results.
Map corresponding information by dragging and dropping them. Then, click ”Next step.”

STEP 6 Define Rules

This step is optional.
To check available transformation or validation rules, click ”Add,” next to the attribute. Add rules when necessary; for example, when your catalogue consists of numerous products, some of which have too short names. You can validate the minimal number of characters in order to eliminate them. Then, the configuration wizard will exclude products without a full name.
Click ”Next step.”

STEP 7 Summary and Validation

The last step of the mapping wizard is summarizing the mapping process of your catalogue on EmpikPlace. Here you will receive a detailed summary of your products' eligibility for import. If any category or attribute was mapped incorrectly, you will be informed about it and you will be able to correct the mistakes.

Check what products were mapped incorrectly.
If the summary does not have any mistakes, click ”Import my products.”

If the product is imported correctly to EmpikPlace, it will be marked as ”Complete” and it will be available on EmpikPlace up to 2 days after positive verification.
